Reading Comprehension Strategies @CommonLit

這暑假為幾位中年級學生做了閱讀素養能力的特訓, 教材是用 CommonLit 的 Target Lesson, 雖然免費, 但是含金量滿滿, 完全不會輸給我們平常使用的Wonders及國家地理等經典教材！

CommonLit 是對標美國課綱的非營利組織, 以提昇 G3~G12 學生的閱讀, 寫作, 批判思考等能力為目標, 背後投資者有 Havard, Amazon, Google, AT&T, Cisco 等國際大公司. 在暑假的16堂課後, 學生閱讀能力皆有顯著的進步！

以小四為例, 內容有針對 Main Ideas, Connecting Ideas, Text Structure, Author's Point of View, Evidence 等閱讀能力的 Target Lessons.

在 "Are Animals Inventors?", 學生學到分辨文章 Main Ideas (主旨) 的三步驟:

當然所有文章皆有音檔, 生字也有英文解釋！

為了避免學生盯著電腦螢幕過久, 上課的所需資料皆有 PDF 可下載！

閱讀理解的練習題, 除了選擇題, 也有簡答題讓學生練習寫作：

國家地理 Reading Explorer 每單元都有 Video 來加深加廣學習, 這也是很棒的機會可以透過 TED Talk 來練習 Presentation (報告).

最近我們學到 The Flu Virus, 剛好可與時事連結, 學生們都很有感.
